Audio Diner this Saturday, June 6!

Friends of Irving Circle with Indy Parks and Rec is proud to present Audio Diner in concert at Irving Circle Park on Saturday, June 6 at 7pm.  The concert is free and families are welcome.  Concessions will be sold.  All contributions go to the upkeep of Irving Circle Park.

Update from Paul Poteet at paulpoteet.com: Based on current trends the rain threat should end by around 3pm in the Haute, around 4 in Lafayette, around 6 in the Indy Metro, around 7 in Muncie, and after sunset in Richmond, where obviously the rain will arrive latest.

This Saturday, July 12th: Audio Diner!

The second concert of the year will be this Saturday, July 12th, from 7pm to 9pm.  Irvington-based band Audio Diner will be performing their mix of family friendly rock and pop.  Before their performance, local dance school Centre de Danse Irvington will offer a performance with their dancers.  Some will be as young as three!

Bring your lawnchair or blanket and enjoy the free event.  The street will be closed, so bring your kids' bikes so that they can ride in circles.  The concession stand will be serving dogs, brats, popcorn, and beverages.  Or you can bring a picnic or carryout from concert sponsor Jockamo Pizza.

All proceeds from the concession stand benefit Friends of Irving Circle, a 501(c)3 organization.

Spring is here! Concerts are coming!

Spring is here... finally!

 It has been a long cold winter, but the flowers are in bloom and the park is ready for some tender loving care. On Saturday, May 10 starting at 9am, we will be doing a spring clean-up in Irving Circle Park and we welcome your help! Bring yourself, your friends, your family... Bring yard tools, gloves, sunscreen... We'll be pulling weeds, picking up limbs and trash, cleaning out the gutters, maybe mulching, maybe painting the fountain. We will have donuts and beverages and hope to be done by noontime. Any help is appreciated! 

And concerts... yes we have concerts coming.

Saturday, June 14th, Late Shift Disorder (featuring Irvingtonian Paul Diebold) will be performing. They are a 4 piece electric rock and roll and blues group playing music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's as well as some original pieces.

Saturday, July 12th, Irvington favorite Audio Diner will be performing their playlist of fun filled songs.

And later this summer, look for rock-n-roll band the Lightweights XL.

All concerts run from 7pm to 9pm.

Come one, come all to the annual spring clean up at Irving Circle Park! Bring yourself, your family, your friends, ad your garden tools! We will be weeding, mulching, and picking up trash. The fun starts at 9am on Saturday, May 11. And thank you for continued support!

New Trees

The Common, Sept. 18th

Saturday, September 18th, from 7p-9p, is the last of the 2010 Irving Circle Summer Concert Series, presented by Friends of Irving Circle. September's musical entertainment will be provided by The Common. Bring your chairs and blankets, your family, friends, and neighbors, to the historic Irving Circle Park, which two and a half miles south of Washington Street on Audubon Road. Food and beverages are available for purchase and all proceeds go to the charitable organization Friends of Irving Circle, whose mission is the promotion, upkeep, and improvement of the park.

The 2010 Irving Circle Concert Series is sponsored by Jockamo's Pizza, Central Ace Hardware, Indianapolis Power and Light, and PNC Bank, with additional support from Marsh, Irvington Garden Club, and the Historic Irvington Community Council.
